About the cases

All the cases are investigations of historical innovation practices, and in particular how industrial technology was migrated to culturally diverse colonial locations. For each stage of the migration process, we have identified different topics of relevance. The different cases have different emphases, for example the social and labour aspects of sugar mill implementation or the ownership structures and collaborations in railway manufacture, but across the set of cases a full picture should emerge of what the contemporary practice was and how it affected innovation performance.
